PLA prints the finest detail and cleanest surface of any material we stock. It is the right choice for prototypes, models, display pieces, and indoor fixtures that never face heat or weather. We 3D print PLA parts to order in London, Ontario and ship across Canada.
Request a PLA quotePLA holds crisp edges, fine text, and small features better than any other material we stock, with a smooth matte finish available.
High stiffness keeps flat surfaces flat and dimensions accurate, which makes PLA a reliable choice for prototypes and fit checks.
Applications
Typical jobs we print in PLA. If your part is similar to any of these, PLA is likely the right choice.
Dimensional test pieces and concept models, often printed before committing a final part to a more expensive material.
Architectural models, product mockups, props, and presentation pieces where surface quality matters most.
Light-duty alignment jigs, drilling guides, and assembly aids for indoor shop use.
Drawer inserts, tool organizers, desk hardware, and indoor brackets under light load.

Mechanical values are measured in the X–Y print plane. Strength across layer lines is lower (tensile strength approximately 22 MPa in Z); we orient every print to put the strongest direction where your part needs it. PLA resists most oils and greases, but is not resistant to strong acids, alkalis, or some organic solvents.
Common questions
No. PLA softens around 55 to 60 degrees Celsius and breaks down with prolonged UV exposure, and a dashboard in summer sun can exceed that temperature. For vehicle and outdoor parts we print ASA; for general indoor duty, PETG.
PLA is stiff and holds tight dimensions, but it is more brittle than PETG and loses strength in heat. It suits display pieces, prototypes, and light-duty indoor parts rather than parts under sustained load.
The matte PLA we stock produces a smooth, even, low-gloss surface that hides layer lines well. PLA also prints the crispest detail of any material we offer.
PLA is typically the most economical material we offer. Upload a file or describe the part and you will receive a print and shipping price within one business day, with no obligation.
