TPU is our flexible material. Parts bend, grip, seal, and absorb impact instead of cracking, and they shrug off wear that destroys rigid plastics. We 3D print TPU parts to order in London, Ontario and ship across Canada.
Request a TPU quoteTPU bends and springs back. Parts survive drops, vibration, and repeated flexing that would crack rigid materials.
High surface friction and elasticity suit gaskets, feet, pads, and anything that needs to hold position or absorb shock.
The TPU we stock is on the firmer end of flexible: it holds its shape under load while staying rubbery, comparable to a stiff shoe sole.
Applications
Typical jobs we print in TPU. If your part is similar to any of these, TPU is likely the right choice.
Custom gaskets, washers, and seals for housings and covers. Not offered for fuel systems or pressurized lines.
Equipment feet, corner protectors, vibration dampers, and wear pads.
Tool grips, handle covers, protective sleeves, and cases that absorb impact.
Living hinges, straps, and flexible connectors that bend thousands of times without failing.

Specifications
Values below are from the manufacturer's technical data sheet for the TPU we print with (Bambu Lab TPU for AMS), tested to the ISO standards listed.
| Property | Method | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Density | ISO 1183 | 1.26 g/cm³ |
| Shore hardness | — | 68D (firm flexible) |
| Melting temperature | DSC, 10 °C/min | 183 °C |
| Water absorption (saturated) | 25 °C, 55% RH | 1.20% |
| Property | Method | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile strength | ISO 527 | 22.4 ± 0.6 MPa |
| Young's modulus | ISO 527 | 1190 MPa |
| Elongation at break | ISO 527 | > 650% |
| Impact strength (Charpy) | ISO 179 | 124.3 kJ/m² |
Mechanical values are measured in the X–Y print plane; tensile strength across layer lines is approximately 11 MPa in Z, so we orient flexible parts carefully around their load direction. TPU resists most oils and greases and is highly abrasion-resistant, but absorbs more moisture than our rigid materials.
Common questions
The TPU we stock is Shore 68D, which is firm flexible: it bends and rebounds like a stiff rubber sole rather than a soft squishy gasket. It is the right choice for parts that need to keep their shape while still flexing.
TPU is highly abrasion-resistant and stretches more than 650 percent before breaking, so in impact and wear roles it outlasts rigid plastics by a wide margin.
Our stocked TPU is firm flexible. Softer grades are a specialty order: describe the job on the quote form and we will advise whether a softer material is available and suitable.
